On March 14th, 2018 the leaders of My Justice Story in partnership with Science Leadership Academy Student Government organized a walkout part of the national student walkout. A little over 200 students walked out of their classrooms at approximately 10:00am to listen to stand in solidarity with the many lives taken from gun violence. Students were joined by SLA Principals and Faculty, Assistant Superintendent Christina Grant, State Senator Vincent Hughes, Philadelphia Councilman Kenyatta Johnson, Actor & Activist Sheryl Lee Ralph, a representative from Senator Casey's office, and a representative from Malcolm Kenyatta's campaign.
Alongside having speakers, various actions where provided for students to take part in during the walkout such as Letters to Leaders, Voter Registration and 17 Second Justice Story Videos.
